Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

2020 is a very special year for us: In 2020 Fecken-Kirfel celebrates its 150th anniversary. But 2020 is also affected by the big challenges the corona pandemic implicates. For the safety of our guests and colleagues and due to the worldwide travel restrictions we had to postpone our anniversary festivities. But we already look forward to celebrating this event in the next year.

In the 150 years of its existence, Fecken-Kirfel has experienced eventful times. But we have endured them all successfully. In this newsletter we will take a brief look at how this was achieved and how Fecken-Kirfel will face the future even in these challenging times.

In the continuation of the history of our cutting machines below you will learn how Fecken-Kirfel developed manual vertical cutting machines and advanced them to fully automatic cross cutting and trimming machines.

Moreover, an interview with our Vice President Michael Tillmann is focused on how you can benefit from our new intuitive user interface based on Windows IoT.

Enjoy reading our newsletter. Stay healthy. We look forward to meeting you personally again soon.

Yours Lars Nelles

In this fourth article on the history of the Fecken-Kirfel machines, we focus on the evolution of the V Series from the first manual vertical cutting machine designed in 1956 to the current solutions for the flexible and efficient production of small and larger contour parts. At present, fully automatic cutting lines that combine a horizontal splitting machine and a vertical contour cutting centre, as well as a wide range of software solutions, constitute the current state-of-the-art offered by Fecken-Kirfel.
